With wisdom and foresight, our founding fathers designed a government they thought best suited to protect our rights to life, liberty and property. Our founders well understood that Life, liberty and property were God given rights that deserved protection and for this reason they formed our government, the envy of every other country in the world.
Property Ownership is the very extension of life itself. It is the expression of individuality and provides a good environment to raise a family. The beginnings of individual property is traceable to the very conception of society. Most animals are territorial. Their basic instincts protect their space from intrusion even by one of their own kind. People need their own space too.
We have as our purpose the safeguarding of this most essential and cherished liberty. In short, liberty is the freedom of every person to make full use of his faculties - so long as he does not harm other persons while doing so. While property ownership is of the most primary and indispensable freedoms that we enjoy, with it also lies responsibility.
Therefore, coupled with safeguarding the freedoms associated with private property ownership, we also accept fair and reasonable laws to protect the environment. The proof of a great nation is in how many people have their own home, no matter how big or small, a place for them to personalize and call their own.
We believe it is the duty and responsibility of every citizen of these United States to understand the American way of life; to support, protect and preserve it; to guard it from without or from within; to make its principles more effective and to pass them on to our children. To do these things, we must be constantly on the alert to expose any persons or movements which would destroy the American way of life. We must exercise our right to vote by participating in all local, state and national elections. We must willingly assume all the responsibilities and duties that rest upon self-governed free men.
It is for the foregoing purposes that our League was formed. Ours is a League of property owners, indifferent to one's holdings, whether they be a thousand acres or a thousand square feet.
